The Center for Advanced Learning

What did YOU do at school today?

Networking/Programming

Are you interested in how to configure a network? Are you interested in building your own web server? Are you interested in programming a game? If so, CAL will give you two extensive years in the Information Technology field.

We will prepare you to install, configure, and maintain networks. You have an opportunity to work toward your Cisco certification by using Cisco certified curriculum and receive college credit at the same time. Cisco is the standard for network routers and switches in corporate network closets. You will learn how to program routers and switches to optimize the flow of traffic on a network.

You will also learn to install, configure, and maintain computer operating systems. You will have opportunities to work with Microsoft and Linux client and server operating systems. Students have created their own servers.

The most popular capstones are students programming games. You will be exposed to Java and C++ as you work on projects in class.  You can apply your skills by programming our robot to compete in an international competition which would include programming motors, sensors, etc.

When you leave CAL, you will know and understand what area of Information Technology that you want to pursue.
